Making the Choice to Homeschool Preschool
Before you begin you have to decide if this is right for your family. It won't be right for everyone and that is OK! The best choices for one family are not the best for another. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the choice to enroll your child in full time preschool, I used to teach those classes.
But there is also nothing wrong in choosing to keep your preschooler home with you! We made that choice because we have the ability to live on one income and that gave us the option to have me stay home with our son. When he reached the age where he could or should begin learning some concepts a little more formally I was able to be around full time.
However you do not need to be a stay at home mom to homeschool preschool. In the early preschool ages most learning is done through play and very little needs to be formal sit down and lessons. Just half an hour a day, it could be after work and dinner, could be a foundation for homeschool preschool. At 2 years old all my sons activities take less than 30 minutes. Having your child playing all day at daycare then working for 30 minutes with you after dinner totally counts!!
So if this sounds like something you want to do, then follow along!
